PM's stuck in outbox for ages !! Empty PM's stuck in outbox for ages !!

How come every time I send a Pm it gets stuck for quite some time in the outbox. Does this happen when its busy?? Or if someones inbox is full?? Is there a time limit how long it should be there??

PM's remain in outbox until the recipient has read them.

Yes - the trouble is everyone thinks it works like Outlook where they just sit in outbox for a few seconds before being sent lol. It's not like that.
