Not all members have english as their first language - I can name several members, including myself.

So when you type your post, please use just a minimal of effort in not typing in a way that makes it hard to understand... like sloppy spelling, weird abbreviations and/or lack of punctuations.

Both makes it hard to read and understand... and not only for the foreign members.

I think we need to bump this.

Remember - punctuations are free, and the keys are on your keyboard - us old folks do not understand text-lingo... and nor do we want to.

I think wiv is because they don't speak King's English so really believe that's the way to spell it. I really am an old grump today, everything's annoying me!

I'm bumping too... For me as a foreigner it's not always that easy to quickly grasp the meaning of all kinds of 'texting-shortenings' like u for you, n for and, wud for would...

And if I might add one other remark, I would be grateful if some members could use a bit more punctuation marks, thank you Wink

I also support this topic. Sometimes things are hard to understand due to 'language barrier' but it does get worst when people 'mis-use' their native language which for me is foreign. Did that made sense?

I'm ok with most shortend terms (because you can ask what they mean), just not with 'creative spelling'.

English is my first language and I sometimes struggle with spelling and following a subject because of "text talk".

I agree with this topic. I can't stand text writing and hate things being abreviated (I must admit I do use lol though). I usually have to send two messages on a text because I have had to write it all out correctly. I tried to read an advert a couple of days ago and gave up because I just couldn't be bothered to try and work it all out. Karen Very Happy
